G243-D638 meets ASTM D638 requirements for tensile testing which describes the grips used for holding the test specimen between a movable and fixed member of a testing machine. The dumbbell-shaped plastic specimens are loaded into a gripping fixture. The specimen is positioned so the long axis is aligned with the line of pull from the grips. A tensile test is conducted and the resulting tensile strength and maximum load are analyzed. The grips are made from precisely machined, high strength tool steel. Different sizes of test specimens may require different grip modulations. Contact an application engineer to configure a solution to your application requirements.
