GD395-757 meets ASTM D395 compression testing requirements for rubbers loaded under constant deflection. Test Method B is most commonly used unless the hardness of the rubber is over 90 IHRB, in which case Method A is used. The rubber specimens are placed into the fixture and compressed for a specified amount of time. Spacers are used to maintain a constant deflection on the test specimens. The fixture is made out of high quality stainless steel to provide an optimal surface finish to tolerances specified by ASTM. The nuts are tightened providing compression to the rubber specimens.
