Mechanical vise side opening grips offer an affordable and efficient solution to gripping tensile test specimens at moderate loads. These side opening screw vice grips are available with interchangeable grip faces or jaws to handle the wide range of round, flat and irregular sample types and geometries. Interchangeable grip jaw faces include smooth surfaces, rubber faced, serrated or pyramid cut, V cut for rounds, wave or corrugated surfaces for slippery samples such as textiles and tissues, and diamond grit surfaces for very hard samples. Line contact and special coated faces are also available. These grips are good for static tensile and limited tension-tension cyclic tests (not high cycle fatigue). Specimen types include components, thin sheets, films, foils, threads, plastic tapes, wires, fabric and soft materials.
