570 Axial Torsion & Planar Biaxial Test Benches
Our ED product line is displacing competing servohydraulic test systems due to its ability to compete. We can deliver relatively high static loads, long fatigue life, lower purchase and maintenance cost, higher measurement and control resolution, more compact size, and open architecture control software than competing firms. We can now claim customer satisfaction in axial, torsional, and biaxial testing applications.
Â
Electrodynamic actuators can now deliver relatively high force capacities, high test speeds, high frequencies, long strokes, and are available in both axial and torsional versions. A high force actuator can be outfitted with an ultra-low force load cell and precision stroke transducer to deliver quality load control in fatigue tests at loads below a milliN or sub-gram. The control bandwidth of fatigue test machines has been stretched!
Â
We offer compact tabletop frames and test benches, with axial torsional versions available in floor and tabletop models. Actuators are available with long strokes (e.g. 18 inches) or high frequencies (e.g. 100 hz).
Â
Electrodynamic systems are cost effective and compete with research quality electromechanical test machines. Another innovation occurring in the last several years is the development of a true 24 bit resolution high speed servocontroller – the 2370. Originally intended for multichannel and multistation servohydraulic fatigue test labs, the 2370 controller pushes fatigue testing to the next level because it lowers the controller noise floor and resolves data at a higher resolution. This allows users to get more bandwidth out of their sensors and to control actuators better.
