Pneumatic Wedge Action Grips
Pneumatic wedge style grips are used for tensile testing of plastics, rubbers, films, and materials that thin out as they are stretched. In those applications, an air source or cylinder creates a force that pushes the wedge jaws and produces a sample tightening action to ensure that the grips dont slip during the test. They are well suited for use in environmental chambers, such as plastics tensile testing applications, where the sample deforms considerably.
