ASTM E8 covers the standard test methods for tension testing of metallic materials. The test methods covered in the ASTM E8 standard are focus on metallic materials at room temperatures (10 to 38 C). This method is specifically useful in accurately determining of the yield strength, yield point elongation, tensile strength, elongation, and reduction of area. Many forms of metallic materials can be tested with the standard, including; sheet, plate, wire, rod, bar, and tube. For each of these product types specific ASTM standards outline suitable geometries and dimensions to be used. ASTM E8 defines plate Specimens as having a nominal thickness of 5mm [0.188 in.] or greater. Sheet type specimens such as sheet, plate, flat wire, strip, and band metal shapes are to range in nominal thickness from 0.13 to 19 mm [0.005 to 0.750 in.]. Round specimens standard diameter of 12.5mm [0.500 in.] is required for ASTM E8.
Testing machines used for this test are very versatile. By having a machine that can use various gripping solutions, multiple materials and shapes can be tested from the same machine. TestResources has testing machines that are easily to make modifications to. Machines can be equipped with controllers for position control, force control, or strain control.
TestResources specializes in Test Equipment, Machines & Fixtures that are used in material testing. We have the material testing machines that are used for ASTM E 8 test standard. OVERVIEW
Tensile test machines pull controlled loads on tensile or tension samples to measure material tensile properties including uniaxial tension strength and elongation. Tensile test machines, tensile pull testers are special versions of electromechanical universal testing machines and UTMs equipped with tensile testing accessories such as tensile clamps, jaws, grips, fixtures for testing tensile bar, coupons, dog bone, and dumbell sample geometries. Other tensile tester accessories include axial extensometers, high temperature tensile furnaces, and ASTM ISO DIN EN tensile fixtures made to tensile testing standard methods. All tensile tests measure ultimate tensile strength or tensile stress and maximum elongation or tensile strain. With tensile test software and an extensometer, additional tension test results are possible, including Young's modulus, Poisson's ratio, tensile yield strength, and tensile strain-hardening. Tensile test variants include tensile adhesion, tension compression, tensile shear, tensile peel tensile stiffness, tensile modulus, tensile lap shear, tensile energy fracture, textile tensile grab, tensile pulling, tension fatigue, tensile creep, tensile bond strength, tensile load, axial pull, break test, modulus of elasticity, tensile stress strain, plastic strain ratio, cross tension, tensile stress test, tension compressive, tensile tear properties, and loop tensile strength. astm e-8 astm e-8 compression test specimens astm e-8 dog bone specimen astm e-8 dogbone sample astm e-8 download astm e-8 machine astm e-8 products astm e-8 specimen astm e-8 tensile puller astm e-8 tensile test titanium astm e-8-04 astm e814e-84 astm e-855 astm standard e-8 astm tensile testing flat dogbone metal astm. e-8 astm-e-8 astm-e-8 astm-e-8 e-8 tension test examples dogbone astm e-8 elongation testing e-8 excel example of astm e-8 test procedure mechanical testing on astm e-8 norma astm e-8 en espa?
